Naturopathic Medicine

Everyone’s attitude toward health and wellness is unique, but we should all be able to feel and function our best everyday. Naturopathic medicine can help make this possible in a number of ways. It is the art and science of supporting the natural healing processes, and removing any obstacles to those processes when possible.

In my practice, some of my areas of focus include: adrenal dysregulation and stress management, aging, allergies and food sensitivities, nutrition, fatigue, female hormone imbalances (PCOS, PMS, menopause), headaches, hypothyroidism, insomnia and sleep disturbances, skin conditions (acne, eczema, rosacea), and weight gain.

Neuromodulators (such as Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Nuceiva) have been used for decades to restore a more refreshed, youthful appearance. When injected into a muscle, neuromodulators cause a temporary relaxation that can be both preventative and corrective. Results are typically seen within 5-10 days after injection and last 3-5 months depending on the area injected.

HA Dermal Filler

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance found within the skin that attracts and holds water, which helps to provide volume in the face. HA Fillers are synthetic gels that mimic this natural hyaluronic acid in our tissues to add volume and dimension to desired areas of the face. As we age, we lose collagen, elastin, and fat in our face which results in flattened contours and deepened lines and folds.

With age, your skin’s natural collagen supply decreases and you may start to notice wrinkles and facial aging. Biostimulators work with your body’s natural ability to stimulate collagen. A bio-compatible material, poly-L-lactic-acid (PLLA), is injected into the skin’s dermis to restore volume and improve skin quality. Results appear gradually over a period of months, and treatment often requires 2-3 treatments spaced 8-12 weeks apart. While not instant, results from biostimulators have been shown to last up to two years.

PRP (Platelet-Rich-Plasma)

PRP, or Platelet-Rich-Plasma, comes directly from your own blood concentrates and uses your body’s own cell-regenerative powers to restore youthful skin or help to restore hair. PRP works by using your own platelets to stimulate cellular regrowth, trigger collagen production, and help your complexion glow. The treatment involves taking the platelet-rich portion of your own blood and using its growth factors to rejuvenate skin and restore hair follicles.

Microneedling, also called Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is a treatment which uses an automated device with tiny, sterile needles to create thousands of controlled micro-injuries to the skin, which trigger the production of collagen and elastin to thicken the dermis. Microneedling can be used to treat fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and stretch marks.
